Silicon...

2 min read
Lately, I have been experimenting with using silicon to make wounds - I figured it would be a great improvement to have wounds that don't melt down your face if you leave them on too long!! (As I find with using the Vaseline and tissue technique :D

I don't think that this is the way to do it properly, but I happened to have some silicon left over from my Joker Mask (Pictures will come...) and I thought I'd play around. All in all, I have made some very important discoveries:

1. Silicon is REALLY shiny. It looks as if you've spilled PVA on yourself... Talc subdues it a bit, but foundation does not work XD

2. You have to get the thickness just right. Too thin and it peels back and curls up in itself, too thick and it's really obvious that it's not real.

3. You can't put face paint on silicon. I know that's pretty obvious to most people, but it's really annoying anyway :). I'm stuck with powder eyeshadow and eyeliner pencil for the time being!

4. It hurts like hell when you peel it off. Like, OWWW!

Ahh, but life goes on, wounds continue and I am having a lot of fun with this, so it's not all bad :). And it doesn't melt! Which is a bonus. I'm reminded of a fated party where throughout the evening my Joker grin slowly slid down my face...

Animation

Hello
I was wondering if anyone knew any good animation software? I'm doing animation at school at the moment, and our teacher expects us to use Serif DrawPlus (Which has ruined more projects than I would like to remember...). I've been trying to do it with a camera and pieces of paper, but it's suprising how easy it is for them to blow away...

Any animation-based advice would be really appreciated :)

I am so excited... I entered this short story competition with Good Guy Publishing in August, and they e-mailed me back to say that they want to include it in an electronic short story collection!!!!  :woohoo:

*Phew* Back!!!

Hello  I haven't seen you in a while. Yes, you. I've been busy doing stuff, which is sad because I haven't been able to do other stuff. Like go on Deviantart...

Now. The first thing I'm going to do is propose a little competition. I am going to ask three questions, and the best answer for each will win a request. I'm looking for wit, humour and originality, so be creative with your answers!

Question 1: Who are you?

Question 2: What is the meaning of Pie?

Question 3:  What do you think the answer is?

You have until 10th October 2013 - Good luck!!

Also- We've just found out that a small group of us are going to be responsible for organising our year 11 prom and yearbook!!! Very exciting stuff. I was just wondering (Aimed at all the Americans out there...) How do you manage to vote for the 'most likely to' awards? We want something individual for everyone, but there's about 180 of us in the year group which makes things difficult. Does anyone have any ideas, or know how the voting is usually done?

Ta :)

Normandy

1 min read

I've just come back from an amazing school trip to Normandy, in France. The whole trip was based around the D-Day landings, so we went to loads of Museums and the British, German and American graveyards. It was really interesting to see the differences between each one. It was a really interesting trip, and I've leaned loads!! We really did go everywhere, from the German Gun Batteries to the Mulberry harbour in Arromanches. (The best was Pointe du hoc, where we got to explore the ruined bunkers ^^)

And I saw the Bayeux tapestry, which is a few hundred years out but if you're in Bayeux then you might as well...
